Gaia, Our Beauty, Our Earth

In celebration of Earth Day, let us give thanks to Gaia.

Gaia is the spirit who gifts life on our Earth and is seen in all living things. She supports the animal and plant kingdom beautifully. She gifts space for mankind to come into their own spiritual awakening and growth even if their growth does not support her own. She is our unconditional mother, for with out her we would not have a home.

Gaia is a spirit we all have come to know as our home, her reverence for humanity is dedicated and she loves us all. To revere Gaia and show her your grace is to take care of your thoughts, words, and actions as they do effect her strength as a whole. It is time to love your world by loving yourself enough to be emotionally responsible for how you treat all things including the world that gifts you life. It is easy to say it is the other persons responsibility, they do this and that, bad and good it is up to another to conduct themselves differently. This is not the truth. The truth is it is up to each one of us to discover how we contribute to toxicity energetically as well as physically. Most of it comes with our words of non-well being. Words are power. Our concepts create tangibles and harm. Most of us play ignorant in this harmful game.

To love another is to love yourself first because if you are your own worst enemy how can you serve another in well being? Gaia deserves your well being. She deserves your brilliant mind. She deserves your high self worth. Take care of you first and Gaia who deserves the very best will be served.

Blessings on Earth Day, May we remember to treat all things well,

The story of Lexington and Concord (Cornerstones of freedom) Review

What impresses me, as an expatriate Brit, is that this story is fairly told. The British weren’t unmitigatingly evil. The war started largely from politics that continued into violence. The officers in question on both sides are portrayed accurately, as cool, panicky, competent or foolish as they were, with documentation from named sources.

Despite that, it’s written in a style beginning readers will find interesting without being too tough.

The story of Lexington and Concord (Cornerstones of freedom) Overview

Discusses the causes and consequences of the battles which marked the beginning of the American revolution, in April 1775, after local militiamen were warned by Paul Revere that British troops had set out from Boston.

Things to Do in New England

Revere Articles No Comments

New England is one of the most beautiful regions of the country. I have been there many times, mainly with my family. My parents used to rent a house up at Cape Cod every summer, where my sister and I would stay with them. I have also been to Boston many times. Some other fun places to visit in New England are the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard as well as Acadia National Park in Maine.

Cape Cod is beautiful, especially in the fall when all the trees change color. I have never been there in the fall but I’ve been there many times in the summer with my family, when it’s also quite pleasant. The cape runs about 30 miles north along the Atlantic coast and has some nice beaches. Provincetown is right on the tip of the cape. This is a fun town with lots of hip youngsters and some fun shops.

Boston is one of my favorite cities in the United States. I have been on the Freedom Trail twice, which passes by several important buildings pertaining to the American Revolution, including Fanneuil Hall, an old market, as well as the North Church, where Paul Revere began his famous ride. Fanneuil Hall contains Durgin Park, one of my favorite restaurants, with superb prime rib as well as some exquisite clam chowder.

A trip to New England would not be complete without visiting Maine. I was in Maine with my family for a week and ate lobster every day. Lobster is so cheap in Maine that you see hamburger stands which also sell lobster. Acadia National Park is a beautiful spot in Maine, well worth the trip up there.

What is Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration?

Revere Articles No Comments

Image : http://www.flickr.com

In your quest for safer drinking water, you may be asking yourself the question – “what is reverse osmosis filtration (otherwise known as “ro” or “hyper filtration”)? It is a method that exposes water under pressure way to a semi porous membrane with a very low micron structure. Many inorganic compounds that have a larger molecule size than water are unable to pass through the membrane and hence are separated from the water.

This method of filtration was first developed by the US Government in the 1950s as a way to desalinate water. Today, it is used by many industries and household too for improving the quality of their tap water. The heart of a reverse osmosis water filtration system is its membranes. Depending on the type of membrane used, it will be important to know what kind of water is passing through your ro filtering system. This will be an important factor in determining the effectiveness of the filter.

Despite a ro system obvious advantages, there are some drawbacks you need to be aware of. For one thing, this way of filtering strips water of its health-boosting mineral content. Now, this is not a concern for some people because they believe that their daily allowance of minerals can be obtained from food and supplements.

However, there are people who are concerned about drinking de-mineralized water. If this describes you, ask your doctor if it is ok to drink water that has the minerals removed. Another disadvantage is that reverse osmosis filtration on its own is insufficient to remove some harmful synthetic chemicals that are smaller molecularly than water. Ro systems need to be used in conjunction with another filtration technology to be able to remove those synthetic chemicals.

Before you spend money on a reverse osmosis unit, do more research on the pros and cons so that you can make an informed buying decision.

Fresh Blood: THE NEW AMERICAN IMMIGRANTS

Fresh Blood: THE NEW AMERICAN IMMIGRANTS Review

Ungar focuses on the human face of immigration in this highly readable but highly slanted survey.
His accounts of the experiences of the new arrivals are illuminating, and occasionally heartrending, but his unfair loading of language becomes tiresome and undermines his position. Opponents of unlimited immigration are repeatedly described as “angry”; they “sneer”, exhibit “tirades” or even a “frenzy” of “vulgar…patter”, while those who support Ungar’s views engage in “philosophical musings” or “meekly protest”.
The prospect of large sections of America becoming extensions of the Third World doesn’t seem to bother the author, who seems to feel that border crossings cannot and should not be controlled, and “the number officially and legally admitted should more closely approximate the number who actually come each year”. He recommends that American border activities concentrate on drug interdiction and public health measures, but it is unclear to this reviewer how those measures could be implemented in the chaos of an undefended border.
(The “score” rating is an ineradicable feature of the page. This reviewer does not “score” books.)

Fresh Blood: THE NEW AMERICAN IMMIGRANTS Overview

Tracing immigration policy since World War II, a portrait of immigrant communities across the U.S. shows how they are able to maintain their ethnic identities while contributing to, rather than subtracting from, the nation’s prosperity. 25,000 first printing.
